Business Achievements
!

2004: Scales Plus began after successful training and graduation from the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme, an Australian Government initiative for the growth of Small Business. Our business model was analyzed and approved for inclusion in this Small Business Development Scheme.

 

2005: As part of a team of YBN (Young Business Network) Members, represented one of 10 successful WA Business Owners at the Launch of Virgin Money Australia in Sydney, with host of the event Richard Branson addressing delegates.

 

2005: Sponsorship of a child in Peru through Compassion Australia. The Child Sponsorship Program through Compassion provides Education and Basic Needs designed to break the poverty cycle in developing countries worldwide. As a business we partake in supporting various other initiatives to reduce extreme poverty in affected regions and thus also contributing to combat pollution and damage to the environment. In April 2008, we doubled our commitment to the cause by sponsoring another child in the northeast of Brazil.

 

2006: Finalist for Business Icon Competition 2006. This test over 3 days with much to do and little rest tested the finalist entrants’ business skills and acumen.

 

2006: Awarded Scholarship through Rotary International (WA) as a group of selected participants from the Young Business Network to attend and participate at the Entrepreneurs Basecamp in Fairbridge Pinjarra, July 2006. Over an intensive 3 day period, participants were trained in various aspects of business management and professional development.

 

2006: Finalist in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Business Category Award October 2006.

 

2007: Scales Plus won the Home Based Business Award (WA) 2007.  Scales Plus operates from a home based office, with our Warehouse conveniently located in Welshpool, WA. We supply products to clients throughout Australia and Internationally through our highly efficient order despatch procedure.

 

 

2009 \ 2010: Scales Plus Founder and Managing Director, Matthew Stock, visited Community Development Projects in Brazil and Peru - projects run by Compassion International through the Child Sponsorship Program. Though in difficult to visit areas - particularly the project in Peru deep in the jungle - Matthew was the first sponsor to visit both projects which help over 200 children in each project respectively.

 

You can speak to Matt in Spanish or Portuguese, languages he is well experienced with since returning to the business rejuvenated and with renewed determination to bring the business to new heights as Managing Director in 2010.
